A breakthrough...

A breakthrough... Whilst practicing various techniques today, I find one that helps more than any other I’ve tried during my 20 years on this planet. Change the pitch of your voice to be lower (just slightly), speak with assertiveness, and pretend like you are speaking in a style of a person you admire. Fortunately, it is actually a president that has a very slight stutter so it makes it easier for me to project. I am sure y’all have heard of this technique many times and I too was suspect of its effectiveness. What I found, however, is that I gain more confidence when I speak in this tone and almost feel as if I’m somebody different. This newfound confidence rids me of my stuttering for the— most part— but I still encounter blocks. These blocks are only for about half a second, however. I don’t block for as long as I usually do when using this technique because I have completely stopped caring about what they will think when I pause. That’s the key: if you become content with the possible scenario in which you block for 15 seconds or more, you begin to stop caring and you block less because you are not subject to anxiety and also don’t have to meet a certain time stamp. I don’t know, I thought I would share these thoughts with y’all and because maybe y’all could implement them into your own life. I know certain techniques and their effectiveness vary from person to person but I think y’all should give this a try!
