19M with somewhat severe stutter. Was homeschooled and am socially awkward most of the time. Have been going on 2-3 dates per month on average since being 18 (most of which were from online dating apps). Here are a few things I’ve learned: #1. 95% of the dates I go on I know will most likely not work out #2. Because of the low percentage of dates that will actually work out, you need to put in a lot of time towards finding girls to take out. I spend probably 2 hours a day minimum on Tinder/Bumble/Snapchat talking to girls. It sounds like a lot, but unfortunately the time commitment is necessary from my experience. #3. Meditate for as long as you can before you go and meet your date. I usually aim for 30 minutes if I can but have done upwards of 45. #4. It’s hard man, really fucking hard. but a successful outcome makes all the effort worth it. I met a girl a couple weeks ago that was straight up beautiful and I stuttered like a motherfucker for pretty much the whole time and we’ve gone out 5-6 times since and yesterday we decided that we’re officially dating. Never give up. Ever. and obviously if a date doesn’t work out you shouldn’t be hard on yourself. it’s not our fault that we stutter and some people aren’t willing to look past that to get to know us better. it’s totally out of our control to a certain extent so it’s best to just move right on to a new person if a date doesn’t work out.
