It’s also super difficult because people don’t understand that stuttering is not a cognitive disability. I’ve seen a lot of people approach me to try to talk to me but freak out once I answer them. I honestly think there’s a huge niche in psychological research on how people with “invisible disabilities” experience so much trauma from other peoples’ cognitive dissonance alone
