This is great in a funny/comeuppance rather than a miraculous fluency way. * I went to a bakery the over the weekend, and asked for a sausage roll. * Unintentionally stammered so it came out as 'sssssssssausage roll', the prolongation being maybe 2 seconds. * The cashier is smiling, so after having finished I assertively ask her 'Is there something funny?' * She replied with an insincere 'no' continuing to smile, although looking away, pressing buttons on the till or something * I ask her again. This time another member of staff hears (from the following presumably higher in the chain of command). * I briefly explain to this man that this cashier rather rudely laughed while I struggled to speak, * He was much more sympathetic, and makes the cashier apologise, and explain why she is sorry. * Felt great for standing up for myself.
