i didnt realise there was a stuttering community, i cant believe im not as alone as i thought hi, ive only just found this subreddit, i cant believe theres so many of us ive had a stutter my entire life, it always felt like such a big part of who i am as it was obviously one of the first things people noticed when meeting me. i feel like ive spent so long trying to find other people who stutter, as a kid i was always trying to find representation of people like me, but it always seemed to be those inspirational videos of people getting over their speech impediments (i was in speech therapy as a kid and it didnt help me at all, so i never really liked those stories) ive never known other people who stuttered, thered be people who would say stuff like "oh dont worry i stutter too", id get my hopes up, and then find out they meant sometimes they get their words mixed up, and they still get annoyed at my speech. i havent had much luck online either, i mostly use tumblr and for a while the tags were empty apart from people naming their ocs "stutter" i just checked reddit on a whim, not really expecting anything, and definitely not expecting there to be so many people here. im actually getting emotional lol, i kind of cant believe it
