Having worked as a waiter, I can 100% Guarantee you that pretty much every day working a job like this you’ll deal with *at least* one person who is rude, a terrible customer or downright crazy. So in comparison, dealing with someone who is shy, awkward or stutters is *nothing* in comparison and will not even rate in the list of good or bad things that happened that day, at least for the majority of normal people. So don’t worry about it - really!
