I can only speak for me ( obvi). But I think that even though we aren't having to stay home because of covid, we haven't gotten back to socializing fully. I'm not diminishing the possibility that it's because of stuttering. But I do think we are all experiencing isolation to varying degrees. I have been so completely fucking lonely. And I heard that there is a really big statistic of people who are feeling isolated and lonely. Knowing that helped me. I feel like the way we socialize with each other has changed and there is more acceptance. Not completely. Of course, assholes are everywhere. But kindness is a "thing" I think. Precisely because a huge amount of us ARE lonely and we've spent this time thinking about what we actually value in our friendships.
