I can't fully remember but I believe I did do that for a while - there was dial that altered the delay but I don't think it could alter the pitch. As far as I recall it was more the effect of speaking alongside a secondary voice that I just got used to. This was something I had done as an exercise with a speech therapist before I ever got the device and she also noted that it was becoming less effective after months of using the machine. That's not to say it will be that way for everyone, that was just my experience.
