ADVICE ON PRACTICING SPEECH. Hey everyone, this is what I noticed help me with my speech today and I know for sure it can help you as well. I noticed that when I don't avoid words I can't pronounce easily, I just calm down and say the word slowly. It helps me say the word a lot more smoother and fights off the tension in my neck muscles. Again, my stutter is moderate and comes and goes depending on the situation. BUT, the key to overcoming it is actually practicing it in public. When you know a hard word is coming, take a breath again and say it slowly taking as much time as you need to annunciate the word. Remember guys, haste makes waste. DO NOT RUSH. SLOWING DOWN ACTUALLY HELPS. Oh, I also noticed that calming myself before a social situation is a major key to social success. If I tell myself I can and will control this stutter by breathing properly and using light contact on letters, I actually do it. DO NOT BE AFRAID TO STUTTER, JUST DON'T RUSH WHEN STUTTERING SO YOU CAN STUTTER MORE EASILY AND FLUENTLY.
