Not quite sure. I think with time, I just started not caring that much about the stutter itself. I insisted on saying this particular sound, no matter its prolongation. It made it less stressful to deal with, I suppose, because I wasn't going for fluency. I just wanted to speak this chosen word of mine. There are some onset techniques (like deliberate stuttering) that I may have used, but I can't really say I was focusing on any particular method. I got used to the stutter variance, maybe. Made it easier to handle.
