Before reading your second paragraph, I'd have said... "Benefits of having a stutter? Are you insane?" I still don't see any great benefit and would pay money for corrective surgery, but yeah... thinking before one speaks is something that can be construed as an advantage if one squints hard enough. I still say things I wish I didn't, but those are the times when I'm for whatever reason, fluent... lol
