I took a performance degree, and before that was heavily involved in youth theatre. My stutter became simply part of how I spoke after a good few years of being very annoyed at it. When it eventually did its weird transition into dysarthia, I was comfortable enough with my speech to continue to challenge myself with public speaking and decided to double down and start streaming. At the moment, my speech is very clear after neuro rehab (where they try and retrain your brain to do things that it could once do fluently) but whenever it reverts back, I'll still continue to just do what I'm going to do. I think, for me, internalising that the worst I can do is fail and that failure isn't death really helped out.
