Good day, bad day is when you're entire day revolves around your speech. You have a good day when your speech is good and your day is bad because your speech is bad. The events or circumstances of the day aren't what you judge, only your speech is. Therefore the quality of your day and by extension of your life, is dependent upon your speech and not, you know, your life.
