I hoped I didn’t get a job like that too but it helped me so much on the long run. The more you avoid it, the more the stress will overwhelm your body. It will respond by contracting all your speech related muscles and you’ll try to throw out every word that comes to your mind. Another tips I’ve used and it worked : each evening, when the kids are asleep, take 15 to 20 minutes to practice your breathing. Lay on your bed and simply take the time to inhale by your nose, make your belly round and exhale by your mouth. Just taking the time to understand how you breathe is one of the key step to take control of your speech. The movement must by fluid without any contraction or breath holds.
