My speech was much better in elementary and middle school. Kids would often mimic my stutter and laugh, but I didn't care. I knew it sounded funny. And it gave me a thick skin. Now as an adult, people only feel sad. And look at me like I'm a victim. That's even worse. Constantly reminding me that I SHOULD feel sad about this all the time instead of it just being a " silly quirk " that sounds funny.
