I am an engineer who stutters. Not an 8-9 but ... I am 38, had those same thoughts at 21. I have 3 kids ... still struggle with depression everyday, thank god for them. I liked the advice of leaving home. I moved from MI to CO right after college, left my Mom. She is my rock. It helped me. You are more than your stutter.
