In my opinion, I wouldn't begin saying that you have a speech impediment. Let your speech speak for itself. I think that when you do that, you reinforce your fears of stuttering and make it worse. Let it be as it appears. Many stutterers have lost jobs or promotions by simply disclosing their stuttering when it wasn't visible.
