I also got SSI in 2020 for stuttering but also some mental illness issues and anxiety. It took like a year. I got rejected a few times but found a disability lawyer and I also got a lot of backpay. The lawyers take a chunk out of your backpay but I wouldn't have got any without one. If it negatively affects your life in a meaningful way, it's a disability.
