Just to be sure - I'm not trying to undermine that! I'm sorry if it came off that way (to you or anyone else reading). I'm definitely not going for "forced positivity" or "forced optimism" (in case the above looked like that). I think the last many years of being with a stutter, I've tried framing things in a certain nuanced and moderate light. There are certain extremes I've encountered that I think are unhealthy. And the way we talk about ourselves, among us, is important for how we collectively understand (or get better at understanding) what it's like to have a stutter. So I want to open up other venues of interpretation, somehow. Not sure that I'm going about it the right way, but I think I'm getting better at it. The main goal is to be more inclusive and more pragmatic.
