I'm not sure if there's a big difference between a mild/moderate stutter and speaking without one entirely. But from my experience there's a massive difference between a severe stutter/selective mutism, and being able to communicate with a stutter. Growing up I was scared to drink water because I couldn't tell the teacher I needed to use bathroom. Now I can tell a cashier I am paying in cash vs card or order food at a restaurant (pre-covid), even if it's not very eloquent!
