It helped me. Didn't fix it, but I got some tips and learned some tricks. The one exercise which had the biggest effect was to go somewhere alone and read out loud very slowly to myself. Ridiculously slowly. Stretched out every single syllable, every letter, including the ones I typically never stuttered on. Took forever to get though one sentence but it felt weirdly good to move my mouth in that way and be able to do it without stuttering. It was relaxing. I sounded like I was tripping, but at least I wasn't stuttering! Over time I picked up speed so that (long term goal) I could actually read books to my daughter after she was born. I continued to, and still do, stumble over the same old blocks during regular conversations, but slightly less often; I apply some of the slowdown tricks I learned from the reading. Good luck!
