Agree with you 100%. Sounds like a scare tactic and can cause way more harm than good… - the Maguire programme I might add focuses on the importance of ‘relapsing’ and how prominent it is because it CAN and WILL happen at anytime which I respect because they are transparent and aren’t giving you that false hope of a ‘cure’. It teaches you basically the maintenance and the importance of maintaining those techniques and constantly ‘feeling the fear and doing it anyway’. For example getting out of ur comfort zone, getting on the phone, asking strangers for directions, toastmasters and public speaking etc which ALL help with overcoming the initial fear of speaking which realllly helped me with my mindset. Not to be afraid of speaking even if I do stutter. That’s the most important thing.
