I am from a Latin American country and I often felt isolated because I literally did not know anyone else who stuttered and there was no stuttering association. I found myself being encountered by rude people and rude comments. I was bullied a lot because people did not understand this was out of my control. Here in the US, it has been a little better because I guess there is more awareness, but I have still been bullied.
