I became fluent by studying as to why fluent speakers don’t stutter. This led me to the idea of having voluntary control over my Valsalva response. I am a speech pathologist so I have a bit more information related to speech disorders. I am basically stutter free which has been a life changing experience. Just a few years ago I was not able to say my name. Being able to say my name without stuttering was an amazing achievement. I am 74 years old.
