Yeah but come on, severe stutter vs. dietary restrictions or dyslexia? Let’s be real here you know fully well which one is worse and by how much. If that’s your husband’s mindset and it helps hi, be happy then that’s fine but from a practical point of view, a severe stutter is much worse. A severe stutter can be debilitating and shut a huge amount of doors, both socially and career-wise, and can have profound adverse mental health impacts. You can’t say you can’t let it control you when employers will reject you because they know you won’t be able to communicate or when you’ll be left out and spoken over in social situations because of a speech impediment. MS is different. I’m sure that would be way worse than having a bad stutter. You’re right that you try to not let it control you and try to live a good life regardless but it’s also not some minor constraint, especially if it’s a severe one. That’s also a hell of a lot easier said than done. Having a stutter is incredibly frustrating and embarrassing. Do you have a stutter yourself? Because honestly I would consider this to be toxic positivity from someone who didn’t have one, sorry.
