Hello guys! I love telling stories to my friends and despite my stutter I’ve found a few ways to manage such a lengthy, focused, situation. 1) Really knowing your story before you tell it! It may seem trivial, but knowing you have a direct path in words that you know are coming, you’re almost able to prepare earlier than a sporadic thought. 2) Practice being a little theatrical or dramatic. Taking beats in between impactful parts in a story is a good way to momentarily regroup and catch your breath, do whatever you need to. Tell your story as if you’re performing slightly, even change up the way you speak even! You’re telling a story, it’s supposed to be fun! (Unless it’s sad lol) -I’ll link to something that helped me start a foundation for out loud story telling. 3) Who wants to hear your story? Unless you’ve dragged someone by the arm to hear your story, then odds are your story telling is probably encouraged and those people are most likely willing to be engaged no matter what. 4) confidence, duh, we know. I’m sorry if this advice or link aren’t helpful, it’s just stuff that’s helped me. I’m willing to talk to anyone about their stutter or specific impediment! I’m wishing the best for all of you! https://youtu.be/3LLpNKo09Xk
