4yr old started breath stuttering? We intend to call our doctor tomorrow just to rule out anything serious, but he's had a developmental stutter since he was two that comes and goes. We notice a pattern it gets bad with growth spurts, then will stop for a while. The doctors have never been concerned. We noticed the other day he started stuttering with his breath? In the same patterns and breaks where he previously would with words. And like his usual stuttering patterns and fluctuation. I'm a nurse (geriatric, no peds experience other than my kids), he's not displaying any other symptoms that are concerning with his breathing or oxygen. It just sounds really scary like he's wheezing and gasping for air for well under 30 seconds, until he gets the word out then he's totally fine. I've asked if he's having a hard time breathing and he keeps saying no. I've just never heard of seen this associated with stuttering? Has anyone had experiences with this, themselves or their kids?
