I was the best man at my brothers wedding last year and had give a speech. I took a half a zanax before and it went well - I hardly stuttered and was able to get through it! I used to be prescribed it for anxiety. Personally, It's not something I'd want to take daily or even weekly. Just for special occasions when I have to give a speech, job interview, or something. Over the past couple of years, I have stuttered less and less. I've been taking Zoloft (an ssri antidepressant) for a little over 2 years now, and feel that it's helped with my anxiety - and, in turn, my fluency. The side effects are pretty bad though. I guess there's no way to tell if it was the Zoloft helped my fluency - but I can say that, in general, I've been less anxious and more stable since I've been on it.
