As a female medical student, I am here to argue that it is just as bad, regardless of sex or gender. As a female, I'm immediately discounted by my superiors, regardless of their gender, because "i'm just a med student." Then, I'm a "female med student." THEN, I'm a female med student who "doesn't know what she's talking about" or "too weak/too emotional" (either stuttering, getting flustered from stuttering, or getting anxious/panicked from stuttering). The "I'm less of a man" card is outdated and everyone faces their own set of individualized hurdles because of a stutter.
