Not a PhD but I’m working on my second Masters degree, Physician Assistant Practice, and it’s definitely been a challenge. We do a lot of talking and have to build rapport quickly with both patients and colleagues. That’s not an everyday reality for me yet as I’m in my first year, but when rotations begin this summer it will be and I’m certainly nervous about it. But the things I have to actively maintain in my mind while I’m trying to speak is to not rush myself or let myself feel rushed by others, I’ll say what I’m trying to say eventually and I’ll get there faster by not trying to force it, personally this helps a lot I also started going to speech therapy a couple years ago which has helped immensely, it can be more difficult to find a speech therapist who has experience with adults, but it’s worth the trouble in my opinion Edit: Wow thanks for the gold!
