Where do you live and what is your primary language? I only ask because your English and spelling see so good. I'm 76 years old, stuttered from the age of 5 and at 70 I fully recovered. My stutter was caused by childhood trauma and the right psychotherapist worked through my childhood abuse issues and I became totally fluent. Everyone is different though. My stuttering was emotionally caused. I so well remember my fear of pursuing my career after I graduated from university. The fear of not even being hired or taken seriously in my field was enormous. I was fortunate in marrying a professional and being allowed to be a wife and homemaker and not have to compete in the job world. I got to be a very intelligent wife and mother. I was satisfied with that. You sound like you are able to control your speech, you're well-educated and you shouldn't have a problem being hired or competing in the professional world. Don't give up on achieving fluency. I gained mine through dealing with my abusive childhood through psychotherapy. At the age of 70, I became fully fluent. Please don't disregard speech therapy if it's available. I've seen some miracles done through breath control. There's a YouTube video about a 4-day program in the UK. Stutterers who can't even say their names are able to converse at the end of the 4 days! It's a breath technique. Check out the breath control for stuttering. I don't have the link but go to: YouTube Real Stories Stammer School. Please keep in touch. Regards Sue
