It frustrates me to no end. Maybe it's confirmation bias but it feels like most disabilities/anything that can't be changed are off limits but stuttering is fine. In the Office when Stanley uses the phrase "Did I Stutter," if I remember right the reason he got in trouble was for disrespecting Michael, not the impediment. HOWEVER! M*A*S*H* had an episode about a patient stuttering and they did an AMAZING job with it. At the end we learn that Charles' sibling (sister?) has a stutter and he understands more than most due to his relationship.
