First post here, asking for tips Hi all, im a long time lurker and I need some tips. My stutter is not that bad at all to be honest, most of the time I dont stutter and when I tell people that im actually a stutterer they dont believe it at first. My problem is that I only get speechblocks with certain letters, especially words that begin with the letter D. I dont repeat letters, I litteraly just get a block. I live in the Netherlands and simple things like the number 3 (its 'drie' in dutch) give me problems. I cant say the word most of the time if it is not in the middle of a sentence. My brothers birthday is 3 march and when they ask me for his date of birth I really struggle to say it because I my speech gets blocked. Thats not all, sometimes I get a random block when I want to say other words or when I want to speak up during a presentation or something. For your imagination, I dont stutter most of the time because but once like every 5 or 10 sentences. I work at a insurance company and stutter sometimes when I have to talk to customers via phone. I would like some tips for speechblocks, its literally effecting my mental health because I always think about it even when I dont want to. I really think that I can fix my stutter problems but idk how and I want to ask you guys if therapy helps in anyway. Sorry for the long post and thanks in advance.
