Botched my phone interview, yet they still moved me forward. Last week I had a phone interview as I am looking for work despite my stuttering being at its worst in years. The recruiter called me and said my name repeatedly and I blocked on the H from hello..I literally had to hang up due to the awkward silence and called her back and then had a torturious, but short-lived phone interview of say 10 minutes of blocking and stuttering..She was extremely polite, but I felt absolutely defeated and gave up on the idea of that job after the call ended. Here I am today receiving an email from her saying that the company is interested in me and has called me in for an in person interview. Of course, this doesnt mean I landed the job or anything, but I hope it helps others (including7 myself) realize that having a stutter is not the end all be all of getting employment or being a functional adult. I feel like a layer of tension has been removed because at least I can show my enthusiam and passion with my body language and appearance when i interview in person. Good luck to all going through interviews whether it be for jobs or school. Those who are worth working for or working with will understand and see that you bring more to the table than you realize.
