My stutter began at around 4 years old. I guarantee you 4 year old me didn't give a clue about how speech was formed, so there's no way in hell my ideas on speech could have been wrong as you suggest. I eventually worked through it a decade or so later once I understood the underlying cause, which again had zero to do with speech itself.
