This happened at a younger age but I truly think it was because some of my relatives truly didn’t know why i was stuttering. Hearing things like “spit it out” as a child certainly isn’t helping anyone’s confidence. But you learn to realize that as you get older people aren’t so quick to make fun of you necessarily and more so are just confused as to what’s happening because it’s not everyday they encounter someone who stutters.
