I do agree that in a sense stuttering openly makes us braver. But I think if we use a word enough it can become a fluent word, so then our fear actually decreases. Yes, I think a speech impediment isn’t necessarily attractive in itself, but stuttering while being confident is attractive. Because it shows others that we are confident despite our appearance. That’s true confidence! What’s not attractive to a woman is worrying about what is attractive. What is attractive is defining on your own terms what is attractive and then presenting it to a woman like you know it’s great! You can almost trick people into thinking that something is attractive. People spend thousands of dollars on designer shoes or rare paintings that the average person would think was ugly. But the positive associations with those shoes or paintings become great, changing the overall impression of them. Same can happen if our qualities become associated with our stuttering. I like your plan! It’s like you are working on asserting your opinions. This I think can do a lot indirectly to reduce stuttering. I think at any turn in life It has the potential to be suffering or happiness. And in the middle we have joy: the ability to be content even during difficult times. I think we can use our experience of stuttering to get to a great place in life. As difficult as stuttering is, and I also tend to stutter mildly, I’m very grateful that I began stuttering. It has given me a reason to be introspective and look at my strengths and weaknesses.
