A stutter won't stop you doing what you want - it's *how you feel about it* that can hold you back. I'm a covert stutterer. I spent years avoiding having to talk in case anybody heard me stutter. It impacted my career, relationships, every aspect of my life. And then one day I confessed to a friend how it made me feel. And a little while later I told another person. And another. And suddenly it wasn't a secret anymore. And I came to realise that it's not stuttering that was impacting my life - but the fear of it. Now I don't really care if I stutter, and my life is so much better for it. I'm in a relationship with the woman of my dreams, and work is going great too. In fact, just yesterday I heard myself stuttering in work, as I was trying to give an actor direction in the studio. But did it bother me? No, I was too busy enjoying Brian Cox's performance. You can do whatever you want. The only thing holding you back is you.
