Why Is it bad to inhale before speaking? Everybody uses air to speak so why would it be bad to use a little bit more air? I understand that you don’t want to be anxiously gasping for air almost in a panic-like way though. It should be done in a way that you feel is controlled. I think what you’re referring to as bad is speaking on the inhale, but I think OP is speaking after he inhales and using the extra air to allow the word to be said easier.
