>when you try not to stutter? 71 say yes, 14 say no. In my opinion, if *stutterers* speak on auto-pilot then we stutter, so we have to 'try' something at least to make a difference. In my opinion, if we **try** to not stutter: * by focusing on unhelpful ways to control speech e.g.: '*focusing on avoidance behavior, not-confidence, symptoms, overthinking, anticipation, feared letters, the manner how we move our tongue (and jaw), and negatively evaluating the listener*', then stuttering may worsen. * by focusing on helpful ways e.g.: '*focusing on breathing calmly (to move our attention away from our initial focus on unhelpful ways inasmuch as we let go)*', then it doesn't necessarily worsen stuttering. Question: (to everyone) Do you agree? why or why not?
