I agree that trying to push through blocks is unhealthy, and that it's better to stop and try and work through the word a different way, even if it takes longer. I don't think choosing repetition is the best option, but avoiding blocks is necessary because they can trigger secondary actions like jaw locking, twitches, etc. Bottom line, forcing your way through a block can be painful, cause secondary actions, and doesn't help you improve. Easier said than done, but it's true.
