Practice is the key. I hesitated a bit though at practicing on your own. In my experience, the visits to the therapist often included the therapist correcting mistakes I might be making. Or optimizations to my techniques. I'm certainly not saying don't try it on your own. But if you find it's not as effective as you'd like, or that you're struggling to make gains, seek out professional help. No reason not to tap into the years of training and experience that the therapists have to offer. Never hesitate to reach out if you ever have a question or whatever.
