Speech Therapy on a Budget: Free First Session with a Licensed SLP Hi everyone, I’ve been part of this community for a while, and I wanted to share something that has significantly helped me. I've faced stuttering since childhood, and online therapy has been a game-changer for me. I recently moved from India to the US, and when I started looking for speech therapy here, I was surprised by how expensive it can be—anywhere from $80 to $250 per hour. In contrast, I’ve been working with a speech therapist in India who offers online sessions for just $20 per hour, and she’s been incredibly helpful. The therapist I work with is a licensed Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP), having completed all the necessary education and certifications. She’s been practicing for several years and has a deep understanding of stuttering and speech therapy. The lower cost has allowed me to increase the frequency of my sessions, which has made a big difference in my progress. To help more people access affordable therapy, she’s offering the first therapy session for free, which would be more of an assessment call. However, it’s important to note that this option would only work if you’re comfortable communicating in English, as that’s the language of instruction. I’m curious—would anyone here consider taking online speech therapy sessions from a professional SLP in India if it meant lower costs and the option of a free initial assessment?
