Guys in moments like these be aware of what is happening (i know it's hard to be mindful in such situations), tell yourself you can take control, breathe and re-start talking or tell the other person "give me time" ... It's really hard to apply this technique but it helped me through alot, i still haven't mastered it well, like sometimes i let negative emotions which worsen the situation.
