Are you also analytical with speech? I’m a covert stutterer. Since 2012, I’ve had this natural curiosity about how people speak. This includes word choice, fillers, cadence, and more. Over the years, I would watch videos from Pro90d. I joined theatre and learned that a script can be read differently from how it’s interpreted. I would watch TEDx videos to see how they spoke. I even learned how different accents of English are unique to one another. Videos about famous people’s idiolects fascinates me. There are just so many aspects of language and speech that is just so fascinating. For me, I think this curiosity that I held helped me toward achieving partial fluency by being a covert stutterer. Even to this day, I recognize my own speech patterns, and keep doing it because patterns help me stutter less. Are any of you also analytical with speech?
