17 was probably the worst age for me as far as stuttering. Every day was a struggle, especially with anxiety. I was really quiet, could barely get any words out, had few friends, etc. I went back to speech therapy (I had been going when I was younger) and that did help somewhat. Getting out of high school and going to college helped a lot. I made a few friends and even started dating a bit. Over time, my fluency improved, as did my mental health I like to tell younger people that it does get better. I remember being so depressed when I was younger, thinking I’d never have a normal life. I was definitely a late bloomer but I’m married, have a house, job, cool shit. I still have some anxiety about public speaking, especially introducing myself, but I’m a content person overall
