I have an 8 yr old daughter with a history of selective mutism. Affected her significantly during preschool years and started getting better in 1st grade. Now it's much better and only peeks out occasionally. She has also been stuttering since preschool age. She prolongs her vowels (vowel prolongations) and has some interjections and additions. I was waiting to see if it would resolve on it's own but it has continued and she will be starting speech therapy soon. I see you originally posted this a year ago. How have these things been since then?
