This is a very belated response. But thank you for sharing your journey and experience. I am sorry for your experience with your grandfather, he could have chosen to help you in your journey and be there as an ally when you felt alone, but he was fighting bigger demons inside of him. It wasn't you that he was ashamed of, it was himself. Forgive and move on.
