In US, the important question you need to ask is can a person with a severe stutter work "a" job. In the majority of cases, as it is evident on this sub, the answer is yes. I can't speak for other countries, but that's how the disabilty system works in the US. I realize it may not be an individual's dream job, but there are jobs that dont involve much speaking and stuttering will not prohibit their abilities to do said job. Where you may have a case is, if you have a permanent injury that may force you to take a desk job that involves a lot of talking, it can be argued between the injury and stuttering, you cannot do ANY job. AND FWIW, disability benefits suck. If you dont have enough credits for social security, monthly payment for SSI tops out at ~900/month. good luck living on that.
