Yeah I feel you. I really struggle with W words so i find it hard to ask questions. I recently started an internship and everyone’s busy doing their own thing but I wish I was able to just ask simple stuff like “what are you working on? How was your weekend?” It’s annoying. What I’ve noticed though, is that I reflect others persona. So if I’m talking to someone chatty and confident then I’ll mirror that too. But if I’m speaking to someone nervous and awkward then I’m awkward and nervous too. It’s funny how it all works. Something that really helps me (it’s going to sound strange) is my boss at usual work makes fun of my stutter infront of new staff so it allows them to understand that I’ve got a speech problem and it gives me the chance to start off well with them. Basically, my colleagues and myself make fun of my stutter, it isn’t the elephant in the room anymore. If you’ve got a close colleague in work, maybe try something like this if you’s are comfortable with it
